I feel like I'm in a "meeting". Hi, my name is Twodogz and I play Flames of War... Confused

I'm going to do some shopping this weekend at the Keep, and I can get one of the following. Another platoon of airborne infantry giving me three total platoons, or I can get an airborne artillery battery. I'm leening toward the artillery battery because of the range. I do have a mortar platoon that is pretty good and could use the extra infantry from the 3rd platoon. Three platoons can really spread out, with there command distance of six inches and nine teams per platoon that would be 13 feet of coverage. I think I could win some size and hold missions.

Thanks by the way,for the forum space.

Well, I'm hooked....

I'm playing, as noted before, Italian Besraglieri Infantry Battalion (North Africa, Tunisia, Sicily & Italy) for my Mid-War Axis. The cool thing about these guys is that I can have German support units ranging from Panzergrenadiers to Panzer platoons, so it's a great way for me to expand out into Germans if I want.

However, there are some other decent lists for these guys in North Africa;

Battaglione AS42 Fucilieri (North Africa, Tunisia)
Battaglione Fucilieri (Sicily, Italy)
Esplorante Squadrone (Recon Company)
Paracudistiti (Italian Parachute Company)
Carri Compagnia (Tank Company)

All lists have their value and even German allies in some of the support sections.

For my Allies, it will be Mid-War Brits; 38th Irish Brigade, 1st Army and 8th Army. Mainly a motorized rifle company, but as an attacking force I will be using British Armored company......I can use M4 Shermans plus some of the more proprietary Brit tanks. (I really like the Crusader III's, but they carry no HE for their guns...lol!)

For Eastern Front, I'll run my Bersags as Alpini (Mountaineers) to take on the Soviet horde.

There's lots to choose from Mid-War, so I seem to be liking it more than other periods....though Early-War is drawing me in too. I've talked with some vets of FoW down here and they echo the sentiment that Mid-War era games make for the best games as the sides are evenly matched in equipment capabilities and matchup power. So, Mid-War's where I'll stay for now.... Smile

Once I get in a few games with my Italians, I will be writing up some AAR's (After Action Reports), chiming in on tactics and the like. I'll provide pics as well from turn-to-turn, so it will be a proper report.

It's good to see others getting into it.....I think it's a definite good side-bar for those of us that play 40k and are historical gamers as well.

I would just like to point out that I...yes me, the man, your friend...recommended that you all have your own little space for you to hash out world war II in all its glory. You are welcome!

In all seriousness though, this is why the BnB thrive so well. Such a dedicated core of gamers that really know how to break a game down and make it awesome. I once heard Kevin Siembedia say once "that role playing games are only as good as the calibre of players that play them".

I think that the same applies here. If thirdultra and M. rage say the game is good then really that is all I need to hear. I'll try it. Just not buying it. My Wolves would howl to much and my Crimson Fists would hit me...hard.

It is good to see the enthusiasm and it is even better that Karl, though late to the game, is jumping on it.

Oops! My apologies....I did forget to mention that with my opening and in that regards, we thank you for the idea and Grandmaster Al for executing/allowing this nice little tab within the sacred halls of the BNB.

That being said, sir.....I will see your Patton and raise you this;

AHHHHH,
A place to frolic in the sun before the sky darkens with the incoming roar of shells that thunderously rip apart the green fields and turns them red with the blood of men.

Thank you Al.

And thank you BikerNinjaman for getting us a place to talk about this great new game!!!!

I can't make it again this Thursday because my wife can't take the kids to work at the hospital, whatever... Has anyone at the gotten into the early war armies yet? I'm not sure about spending money on an early war army just yet. But if I do I'm going to get the Polish army from the Blitzkrieg book, that comes out at the end of next month. Razz

So, I went to the Keep today, and found that Karl was on vacation. The guy filling in for him said that the Flames of War stuff was flying off of the shelf. I was glad to hear that, I hope that the Keep can expand it's inventory as what I came to get was sold out!

He is moving some, and supposedly has a couple of people doing some special orders from him as well. They are about to raise their prices a couple of dollars
on most items sometimes int he next few weeks. They haven't done one in like 4-5 years is my understanding. So I guess its due. Glad I got in on it before then. Very Happy

Might just take my unbuilt stuff tonight and complete what I have.

Will take both it and 40k. Pays to be prepared. Cool
